Samantha Siranli, DMD, PhD, FACP, earned her dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and has completed several postgraduate programs in prosthodontics, which is dedicated to the cosmetic and functional restoration of missing teeth. She has achieved fellowship in implant dentistry, is trained in advanced hospital dentistry, and even obtained a PhD in research on dental implants. In 2010, the American Board of Prosthodontics awarded her the most prestigious award in the field: Board Certification (Diplomate) in Prosthodontics. In 2011, on account of her work as one of the best dentists in Washington, DC, Dr. Siranli was invited to be a featured speaker at the board’s annual convention, where she presented her case to hundreds of colleagues from across the United States.
Dr. Siranli served as an associate professor, teaching and practicing implant dentistry and prosthodontics, at the University of Pittsburgh. Following that she was recruited to the Medical College of Georgia to teach aesthetics, implant dentistry, and prosthodontics. She has received numerous awards and is a contributing author to the book Esthetics in Dentistry. Dr. Siranli has presented lectures in aesthetic and implant dentistry at national and international conferences and is recognized as one of the premiere prosthodontists in the United States. She has been practicing general dentistry, aesthetic dentistry, implant dentistry, and prosthodontics for nearly two decades and uses the latest technological innovations in dentistry, including immediate placement and restoration of implants, computer-guided surgery, veneers, crowns, and new smiles in one day. In 2017, she was selected by her peers to be listed in Top Dentists™, which appeared in Washingtonian magazine.
Dr. Siranli and her husband have two beautiful children. When she’s not spending time with her family, she also enjoys playing tennis, dancing, and reading.
Samuel D. Cappiello, DDS, has practiced general dentistry since 1986 with a focus on full-mouth rehabilitation and attention to TMJ, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry. He believes in a caring, team approach to patient care and works with top specialists who complement his skills. He also believes his patients need to be active in maintaining their own health. Therefore, they must have an understanding of their current state. He takes time developing a relationship with his patients in order to understand their goals. He explains his findings to them so they can make decisions about the type of treatment that is best.
Dr. Cappiello has taken continuing education courses with the prestigious Schuster Center for Professional Development, the Pankey Institute, and the Hornbrook Group. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society. In addition, he is an active member of the NOVA Institute for Dental Education, a local chapter of the world-renowned Seattle Study Club, and he also participates with the NOVA Synergy Training Program for implant dentistry. Dr. Cappiello has been named Top Dentist by his peers in both the Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine.
After attending the University of Delaware, where he earned a BS summa cum laude in chemistry, he then received his DDS from Georgetown University’s School of Dentistry. He was married three weeks after graduation and settled in Northern Virginia with his wife, Sandy. From 1988 to 1990, the Cappiellos lived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where Sandy was assigned to the American Embassy. While there, Dr. Cappiello volunteered part-time at a dental clinic in a Vietnamese refugee camp, where he provided a broad range of services, mostly emergency care.
Since 1990, Dr. Cappiello and his wife have lived in Northern Virginia with their three children: two daughters and a son. All three attended Marshall High School, where they were active on the cross-country, track and field, field hockey, and soccer teams. Their oldest graduated from James Madison University with a BS in geology and is pursuing a master’s in the same field. His other two children attend Virginia Tech, pursuing degrees in marketing and engineering. Dr. Cappiello is a second-generation Italian-American. All of his grandparents immigrated to the United States from Italy between 1899 and 1910. His parents grew up in Northern New Jersey, where Dr. Cappiello was born. His family moved to Wilmington, Delaware, in 1968, where he was raised.
Erika Anderson, DDS, FAGD, is a North Dakota native and double graduate of Creighton University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Stanley J. Honsa Award for Clinical Excellence, the American Student Dental Association Award of Excellence, the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Award, the Dentsply Tulsa Dental Endodontics Award, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists Achievement Award. Dr. Anderson is deeply committed to continuing education and has completed over 500 hours. She attends lectures from nationally renowned leaders in the dental field and participates in local study clubs, collaborating with other dental professionals to constantly improve treatment methods for enhanced patient care. She was awarded her fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2019, signifying her commitment to continuing education.
Dr. Anderson is an active member of the American Dental Association; the Virginia Dental Association, where she served as the Speaker of the House; the Northern Virginia Dental Society, where she served as President; and the Virginia Academy of General Dentistry, where she served on the board as the Parliamentarian. She was also awarded fellowship in the Virginia Dental Association, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the International College of Dentists. She has been honored by her peers as a Top Dentist in Washingtonian Magazine.
Dentistry is a passion for Dr. Anderson, and she has committed much of her free time to continuing education and service to the betterment of the dental profession. She approaches dentistry with compassion and strives to provide her patients with the highest level of communication throughout their care. Her pride and joy are her family, and she enjoys spending her time with her husband and their two beautiful children.
Stephanie Elam Simmonett, DMD, is a Georgia native. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at the University of Georgia and obtained her dental degree from Roseman University of Health Sciences in South Jordan, UT. Upon her graduation, she was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the most prestigious national dental honor society, based on her intellectual and scholastic achievements and professionalism.
Dr. Simmonett was awarded the International Congress of Oral Implantologists’ Pre-doctoral Achievement Award and scholarship in recognition of her interest in and commitment to oral implantology. She was also awarded a scholarship from the American College of Prosthodontics in recognition for Outstanding Undergraduate Achievement in the Study of Prosthodontics.
Dr. Simmonett is an active board member of the DC Academy of General Dentistry and an active member of the DC Dental Society. She is committed to continuing education to provide her patients with the best, most up-to-date dental care. When she is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Simmonett enjoys playing soccer and spending time with her husband, Andy, and her two dogs, Gizmo and Sophie.

Bio coming soon.Dr. Hong graduated summa cum laude from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She received the American Academy of Periodontology Award and was inducted into the Nu Chapter of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Dental Honors Society. Following graduation, she went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. During residency, she received training in implantology, oral surgery, intravenous and oral sedation, molar endodontics, Botox for myofascial pain, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Hong has wanted to be a dentist ever since she was little. She truly enjoys her practice and is passionate about bringing the highest quality dental care to every patient in her chair. She wants to redefine the dental experience by communicating openly with her patients, tailoring treatment to each patient’s goals, and aiming to make the whole process gentle and comfortable.
Cecilia Gyllenhoff, DDS, has practiced general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry since 1988. She is passionate about her work and strives to give her patients the best smile possible. The daughter of Swedish immigrants, she studied for a year in Sweden before graduating with honors from George Washington University. She then attended Georgetown University School of Dentistry, where she received her dental degree, participated in student government, and served as representative to the American Academy of Dental Schools.
In 1990, she began to develop the relationship-based style of practice she uses today. She works to establish a caring rapport from the start, getting to know each patient’s individual needs and goals. She focuses on one patient at a time and provides meaningful, health-oriented, ethical care over the long term. Since partnering with Dr. Cappiello in 2002, her practice has achieved a kindred mindset with a new level of relationship-based, caring dentistry. Continuing professional development allows Siranli Dental in McLean to offer the latest cutting-edge techniques in the industry. Dr. Gyllenhoff is honored that her skill and commitment has been recognized; she was named a Top Dentist in several editions of the Washingtonian and Northern Virginia magazines.
In her early days of practice in Old Town Alexandria, she worked with a team of specialists that helped her see the importance of caring about a patient’s overall health needs and lifestyle. She also learned to provide specialized care, treating people with disabled mouths and significantly misaligned teeth. Two of her areas of special expertise are full-mouth reconstruction and treatment of TMJ. She aligns herself with organizations that equip general dentists and specialists for treatment that unites state-of-the-art techniques with an understanding of the whole person. She received advanced training at the prestigious Pankey Institute and is an active member of the local chapter of the world-famous Seattle Study Club. She also participates in ongoing education to continually update her skills.
As a practicing dentist, she founded and presided for two years over the Tyson’s Dental Study Club. Currently, she donates time to various charities, including the Dental Clinic of Northern Virginia, and stays active with the following organizations: Northern Virginia Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association, American Dental Association, Association of American Women Dentists, Northern Virginia Implant Society, NOVA Institute for Advanced Dental Education, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Gyllenhoff has two children, a daughter at Virginia Tech and a son still at Langley High School. Now that she and her family make their home in McLean, Dr. Gyllenhoff focuses on providing excellent service in the heart of this community, for patients in the immediate McLean/Tysons Corner area, and in adjoining communities, including Great Falls, Bethesda, Falls Church, Vienna, Arlington, and the District of Columbia.
